Home / SPIRIT OF KALA GHODA
As part of an area beautification project in collaboration with the MCGM, the Kala Ghoda Association (KGA) commissioned a bronze horse statuette to symbolize the iconic name Kala Ghoda. Overseen by Alfaz Miller of ABM Architects, the project brought together sculptor Shree Hari Bhosale with additional support from Arzan Khambatta. The statue now stands proudly in the parking lot at the entrance of K. Dubash Marg, serving as an artistic representation of the neighbourhood’s heritage.
In line with its mission to promote and preserve cultural knowledge, KGA also provided grants to the Urban Development Research Institute to prepare a UNESCO heritage site presentation for the Fort precinct, advancing efforts to celebrate and safeguard Mumbai’s rich historical legacy.
Bomanjee Hormarjee Wadia Clock Tower is a heritage structure in Fort, Mumbai, India, that was erected in 1882 using public funds as a token of appreciation for Bomanjee Hormarjee Wadi, a Parsi philanthropist who had contributed to the cause of education in the city.
The Kala Ghoda Association was formed on 30th October 1998 with the aim of maintaining and preserving the heritage of the Kala Ghoda area – South Mumbai’s beloved art district.
